I'll Be Home for Christmas...

One of my favorite things in life are Christmas songs. If we could play Christmas songs all year long, I think the world would be a much happier place. Most Christmas songs are about goodtimes, spending it with your loved ones by the fireside, indoors where it's nice and cozy with snow blowing outside... who wouldn't get fuzzy and warm feelings with those kinds of images in your mind?

A listing of some of the greats:

let it snow! let it snow! let it snow! - Ella Fitzgerald
My Grown-Up Christmas List - Kelly Clarkson
Christmas is All Around - Billy Mack
Welcome to Our World - Chris Rice
Sending You A Little Christmas - Jim Brickman and Kristy Starling
Any Christmas song by Frank Sinatra, the King of Swing
Oh Holy Night - 'Nsync (don't hate... this song is actually REALLY GOOD.)
I'll Be Home for Christmas - Michael Buble

Just a sampling, but there are sooo many more awesome ones that I will post up little by little. I've got a pretty extensive Christmas song catalogue, if I must say so myself... I count myself as somewhat of a connoiseur of Christmas songs hahaha...

but yes, I will be home for Christmas! I'll be arriving in Los Angeles the morning of Christmas day, a perfect gift for my family :). This experience is definitely feeding the sentimental "happy ending" side of me. I have never been away from home like this before, and "coming home for Christmas" seems like such a grown-up and not-me kind of thing to do. It almost feels romantic, except that there won't be some tall dark and handsome man waiting for me at the arrivals gate at LAX when I arrive on Christmas... oh wait, there will be! My daddy~... hee hee hee sorry, I must dissent... haha.

I've already begun thinking about Christmas gifts too... I want to get meaningful and useful gifts, but all I can think of getting for people are things they would want... :$. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't want to just give material things with no meaning... it feels to superficial for me. I'd like to give people something that will draw them nearer to the father, or things that will help them become better people, instead of materialistic or greedy people. Am I thinking about this too much? Maybe I am. I know I tend to overanalyze things... okay, I'll stop here with that junk.

A VT from the States is coming mid-November. They asked if we needed them to bring us anything from the States, and I requested some magazines. I try to keep updated on US and world news through my RSS feeds on my homepage, but sometimes you'd just like to know what kinds of things are on American minds these days... and headlines don't always reflect that. I've suggested they bring a Time or Newsweek, a Readers' Digest, and a fashion mag of some sort. Yes, I do read fashion mags... it is somewhat of a guilty pleasure. I like to keep up with what's hot and trendy, but I rarely let what's mainstream influence my own personal style too much. I've caught myself many times disparaging some new fashion trend and stating that I would never incorporate that item or style into my wardrobe, then eating my words a few weeks later for doing exactly that. :-P Yes, I am a hypocrite! sue me. hee hee.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

i know i know it's not time yet, but Thanksgiving counts as part of the holiday season, right? I just wanted to say it :D
